What is Quantum Computing

The innovation behind quantum computing lies in the way it takes advantage of certain phenomena that occur at the subatomic level. Knowing fundamental differences between classical and quantum computing helps understand how it works:

  • Information representation—In classical computing, a computer runs on bits that have a value of either 0 or 1. Problems are run multiple times, giving a sample of possible answers and increasing confidence in the best answer provided.
